When a person deals with anxiety, everyday tasks become overwhelming. It inhibits your innate ability to think clearly, react appropriately, and deal competently with daily stressors and situations.

What is the Cause of Anxiety?

Many things can cause anxiety – a big event, a build-up of smaller stressful situations, psychological factors, and even certain personality types.

Some common factors can include:

  • Genetics and family history of anxiety or other conditions
  • Brain chemistry imbalances
  • Stressful or traumatic events in childhood or adulthood
  • Significant life changes
  • Certain personality traits or disorders
  • Negative thought patterns


Treatment involves engaging awareness on all levels: physiologically, behaviorally, and psychologically. Body-mind techniques such as EMDR and ETT offer direct tools to affect significant change on all three levels. Anxiety disorders are treatable and relief from debilitating symptoms is achievable.
